Arelis Medina-Recio

Arelis Medina-Recio holds a master’s degree in economics and is currently a PhD candidate in social innovation. Her extensive experience in public service includes work on rural development and microfinance across Asia and Latin America and on labour market analysis.
She launched her career after specializing in productive projects and industrial development in France, became a recipient of the Pearson Fellowship Award for promising civil servants and she also received extensive training in microfinance and executive training at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. A former official with the Canadian federal government, she aims now to advancing research on rural social transformation amid the rise of smart technologies.
